- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup water
For the Sauce:
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg (optional)
Instructions:
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Prepare the Apples:
- Peel and core the apples. Cut each apple into quarters.
- Roll out the pie crusts on a lightly floured surface. Cut each crust into four squares.
- Wrap the Apples:

- Pour Sauce Over Dumplings:
- Pour the sauce evenly over the wrapped apples in the baking dish.
- Bake:
- Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes or until the dumplings are golden brown and the apples are tender.
- Serve:
- Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly before serving. You can spoon some of the sauce from the pan over each serving.
- Optional Toppings:
- Serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream for an extra treat.
