APPLE FRITTERS RECIPE

Table of Contents

Ingredients:

For the fritters:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 large eggs
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups apples, peeled, cored, and finely chopped
  • Vegetable oil for frying

For the glaze:

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions:

  1. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and ground cinnamon.
  2. In a separate bowl, beat the eggs and then add the milk and vanilla extract. Mix well.
  3. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix; it’s okay if there are a few lumps.
  4. Gently fold in the chopped apples until evenly distributed in the batter.
  5. In a deep skillet or frying pan, heat about 2 inches of vegetable oil over medium heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
  6. Drop spoonfuls of batter into the hot oil, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Fry the fritters until golden brown on both sides, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  7. Use a slotted spoon to transfer the fritters to a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.
  8. In a small bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract to make the glaze.
  9. While the fritters are still warm, drizzle the glaze over the top, ensuring each fritter is coated.
  10. Allow the glaze to set for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy your delicious homemade apple fritters!

These apple fritters are best when served warm.

They make a delightful treat for breakfast or dessert.
